USP 797 now requires “wiping” of glasses if worn. This is a great addition to the chapter, as most people wash their glasses less than weekly, and most eyeglasses are colonized by microorganisms. Unfortunately, the chapter does not specify how glasses should be cleaned. If glasses are wipes with IPA, any special coatings, such as Crizal® are likely to be damaged.
The PDI See Clear® Lens Cleaning Wipes are anti-fog, anti-streaking as they are impregnated with a small amount of a colorless to transparent yellow liquid with a pleasant light citrus scent.
